SKETCHING AT BALMER LAWN IN MAY

Nine Adventurous Artists had a cooler afternoon to enjoy in May.

Balmer Lawn Forestry England picnic car park offered an opportunity to create from the popular "splash" of Lymington River as it meandered through.

After sketching we enjoyed a get-together at the nearby Huntsman public house https://www.thehuntsmanofbrockenhurst.com/.

FIRST SUMMER SKETCHING - ELING

Summer Weekend Sketching sessions began on Sunday 18th May 2025.

Members unable to come to the monthly ones held on weekdays, wanted some sessions to be held at weekends.
Helen organised some sessions during the summer months.

Creating a piece outdoors sharpens your observational skills, as well as being enjoyable.

After the sketching, there were refreshments, and chance to chat, in the Eling Tide Mill Experience cafe. This time, there was also the opportunity to admire the TAS members' paintings already displayed in the cafe.

Claire was painting a variety of seashells.

Tina C was using leaf as her support.

Tina H was painting a wooden fence using pan pastel and pastel sticks.

Di was painting a carp using Conte pastels and soft pastels.

Ali used coloured pencils for her detailed animal portrait.

So much variety in one afternoon!

SKETCHING COSPLAYER MODEL IN APRIL

Our TAS 23rd April's Wednesday evening practical session certainly gave us a true taste of structured life drawing. We had a timed lesson plan, her fabulously designed and created Manga costume and clear, informative guidance from talented artist and model, Freddy AKA "COSPLAYER".
