FOUR SEASONS EVENING WORKSHOP IN JULY

Helen Talbot gave us lots of ideas when she gave her Four Seasons evening in February.

We revisited the Four Seasons theme at our evening meeting in July.
Many of us chose to paint growing things:  flowers, trees, grasses - or mushrooms.

The weather had been exceptionally hot.
So it was no wonder that one painting depicted a very hot summer's day!

SUMMER SUNDAY SKETCHING AT LEPE

Summer weekend Sketching at Lepe beach provided plenty of subjects for our sketches.

The changing light as rain clouds rolled away was a challenge. Painting tone and colour in the open air is often difficult.

However everyone embraced the possibilities with very successful results!

We enjoyed well-earned pots of tea in The Lookout café afterwards.

SKETCHING AT MEADOWBANK FARM, NETLEY MARSH IN JULY

Our member, Catherine and her husband Tim (the train driver) were the perfect hosts for our sketching at Meadow Bank Farm, Netley Marsh on Wednesday 16th July.

A creative afternoon in beautiful and peaceful surroundings.

We shared our paintings and chatted art whilst being spoilt with homemade scones and cakes. A lovely afternoon!

So good to see the variety of new subjects in July, for example:

Tina portraying a small girl...

Ali M. looking a giraffe in the eye...

Henry going to town...

Di going underwater...

Helen and her bird of prey...

Sue W. with her adorable puppy...

Ali E. and her recent trips...

..and new ways of painting too.

Sharing art is great fun!

SUMMER SKETCHING AT KEYHAVEN IN JUNE

Our June TAS Summer Weekend Sketching 'en plein air' was at Keyhaven.

It began at 10.30am and ended at 3.30pm providing more opportunity to explore the subject.

Luckily it wasn't the 33 degree heat forecast, we even had a cooling rain shower which brought out the mosquitos - so an early visit to the Gunn Inn.

The sun came out after the pub break and we enjoyed sketching a different view.

Some were trying out lovely textural handmade paper.

The shifting light changed the colours and the atmosphere - such a challenge with changing tide and misty rain coming in.

By the end of the day everyone agreed that they had enjoyed it.
