MARCH AGM: COMMITTEE CHANGES AND COMPETITION ENTRIES

2024 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 27TH MARCH

The meeting was well attended. There was a bring and buy sale and a members' competition on the theme of WATER (details at the end).

Mary Maskell welcomed members and Claire Palmer read the Chairman's report. Other reports were given. The position of programme organiser had been vacant during the past twelve months. 

  • Mary Maskell retired from the committee, vacating the positions of President, Secretary and Exhibitions Organiser. 
  • Anne Hamerton retired from the committee, vacating the position of Chairman. 
  • Claire Palmer retired from the committee, vacating the positions of Vice-Chairman and Workshop Manager.

The election results were as follows:

  • No- one volunteered to be President of Totton Art Society
  • Susan Canton was elected Chairman and Programme Organiser, while remaining Publicity Officer.
  • Helen Bartlett was elected Secretary, while remaining Membership Secretary
  • Gail Morris was elected Workshop Manager.
  • Muriel Hiscott Mills was elected a committee member. 
  • Christine Jackson remains Treasurer.
  • Henry Needham remains Vice-Treasurer.
  • Di Alexander remains Website Editor.

THANKING ANNE, MARY & CLAIRE:  THE THREE RETIRING COMMITTEE MEMBERS 

There was a display of photographs and information.  Anne, Mary and Claire were each  presented with gifts, including china mugs, monetary gifts and booklets containing personal messages of thanks from members.


The February sketching meeting Whinwhistle Fisheries was where Sue and Helen planned a celebration to thank Mary, Anne and Claire for their many years of service to Totton Art Society.
