The FIRST ART EXTRA

Our first session of Art Extra went extremely well with 15 members attending. We all spent an enjoyable 2 hours painting a variety of subjects from our portraits for the exhibition to botanical painting and landscapes and fortified by mugs of tea.
Due to the good support our next session will be in a bigger room and run from 1-30 to 3-30 pm. on July17th and will continue on the 3rd Tuesdays of each month. Thanks to Anne for the idea and to Claire for so capably organising it.

Exbury Exhibition

PERSPECTIVES ARTISTS GROUP

An exhibition has just started in the Five Arrows Gallery in Exbury Gardens by the Perspectives Artists Group. There are paintings by our Chairman and Secretary, Anne and Mary, photographs by Betty and Tony ( Website and Blog) as well ás work by other artists.
The gardens are beautiful at the moment with lovely walks down to the Beaulieu River. The little train and an excellent tearoom are
added attractions.

Sketching at Mansbridge

ADVENTUROUS ARTISTS SKETCHING AT RIVERSIDE PARK MANSBRIDGE
Four of us - Joan, Ali, Helen & Di - sketched a beautiful scene at Riverside Park. Helen shared a bench with two of the regular visitors to the park. Afterwards we had a drink and a chat sitting by the river at the White Swan.
Helen will be hosting the next sketching morning at Ashlett Creek on 14th  July.

PORTRAIT WORKSHOP

PORTRAIT WORKSHOP

We all had a very enjoyable day at the workshop. Some of us tried out our techniques for our self-portrait for the Summer Exhibition while others tried other interesting subjects.

We would like to thank Claire for organising the day. Unfortunately she wasn't well and we thank Anne for stepping forward as her substitute. Di and Mary were invaluable in giving us help and guidance especially for those who were novices as it quickly became obvious that painting a portrait is a very complicated process!
