HILLIERS VISIT

Thanks to Helen we had a lovely afternoon at the Hillier Gardens. Here is her report plus some photos.

The weather held for 11 of our members visiting Hilliers Garden Centre yesterday 09 February. Thank you to John the manager.

We had a great time sketching a variety of topics - flowers, garden buildings, trees and some rather large dogs..... the artists who sketched the dog sculptures said - at least they sat still for their portrait! There was lots of tempting displays to choose from.

We all went to the Hilliers Cafe for a well earned, warming cuppa and shared our work.

A walk around the latest exhibition, Emergence, got us all enthused and ready for the next challenge.

Report of MEETING in THREE SCORE CLUB

We had an evening with watercolour pencils presented by Di in January. There were two short videos on technique. Di then showed how to use fewer lines and less shading to create a looser style  - inspired by artists Jean Haines and Ali Lindley. Small spray bottles of water were distributed and  everyone chose a photo of a dog, or used a photo from their phone. Adopting a new style is not easy at first but everyone rose to the challenge. Here are a few photos.  There are more on the Facebook members' page https://www.facebook.com/groups/161632347660794
